Being confined to my home for a majority of my time nowadays has made me reflect on my past vacation trips. My most recent one in particular to Negril Jamaica. A few months back my husband and I decided to honeymoon in Jamaica and spend a week there visiting family and relaxing. Fun fact, my husband was born and raised in a small town called Clarendon Jamaica. Just a few hours away from Negril. Vacationing there was by far one of the best experiences and I can’t wait to go back. My days were filled with relaxation, exploring, and most importantly eating!
Where to Stay
There are an abundance of hotels from budget to luxury all throughout Negril. You have the option to stay closer to 7 mile beach, where many of the watersport activities are located. If you want peace and quiet and don’t wish to participate in any activities outside of the resort staying south near The Cliffs might be ideal.
Where To Eat
One of the best things about Negril is the food. Many of the hotels in this area have their own restaurants. They all have pretty tasty dishes, so don’t be afraid to try something outside of your hotel. If you are looking for a more casual meal any restaurant on the 7 mile beach stretch is great. For a more formal setting with a gorgeous view The Rockhouse Restaurant is my #1 choice.

Any Restaurant on the 7 Mile Beach
When traveling throughout Jamaica finding transportation is very easy. Usually when planning to do excursions transportation is provided by the tour company. If not, your hotel usually has recommendations of private drivers. I would not recommend private taxis if It is your first time in Jamaica, just for saftey and peace of mind. Plan ahead.
Things to Do
A trip to Jamaica would not be complete without doing some excursions. Food tours to art galleries there is something for everyone. Or if you would just like to keep it simple, relaxation on the beach never gets old.

Where to Shop
There are not that many places to shop in Negril. The best option for any local shopping would be resort gift shops and street vendors if you would like artisan goods. If you are looking for more luxury retail a trip outside of Negril towards Montego Bay may be the best option.
