A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of going to a market event, featuring local women-owned businesses here in Corpus Christi, Tx. It was amazing. From handmade jewelry to vintage furniture there was something there for everyone and it seemed the whole city came to support. Despite the blistering Texas heat, I waited in line just to get into the market. Once in, I spoke to vendors, browsed the shops, and even grabbed a bite to eat at the Food truck that was on site.
My favorite shop there was General Goods Vintage. I instantly fell in love with a white wicker chair that that was for sale. I knew would make a perfect addition on my front patio. But also, the little knick-knacks and trinkets that were available were so unique, it was nearly impossible to say no.
I have to say my weekends are best spent when I am exploring a new show or visiting a local market. Not only does it foster a sense of community, you always find the best stuff! Does your town have any local markets or Pop-up shops that you love? One day, I hope to visit Charlotte just to go to Vintage Charlotte Pop-up markets. They always look so fun.
