Sanayi 313 is not your typical shoe brand. Its a concept boutique in Istanbul, founded by brothers Enis and Amir Karavil. They had one clear mission to “create a meeting place, a cultural hub where art, food, architecture, and fashion all come together.” The boutique offers art, home furnishings, clothing, a marketplace, and restaurant. When designer and closer friend Serena Uziyel, joined the duo shortly after they designed a collection of babouche slippers, that took off like wildfire. Inspired by the caftans of the Ottoman Empire, embellishments that include, intricate embroidery, rich fabrics, and pom-poms. A true reflection of Serena Uziyel unique and luxurious style.
You have to admire the detail on every pair of slippers. It’s like a work of art.
“There are several stages involved in making the embroidery. Each artwork is executed with rigorous precision. Composing textures with raffia is another attribute of the collection. It is almost impossible to repeat the same pattern or texture.”
