Starbucks Reserve Coffee Cards

Starbucks Reserve is a line of ultra-premium coffee collected in small batches from different regions around the world. Each coffee is harvested in those regions and then roasted and packaged, here in the United States. But what’s more impressive, is the artwork for the packaging. Each coffee is paired with a  custom designed coffee card that reflects the culture, art, and environment in which the coffee was harvested from. The designers aim to put just as much passion and care into each design just as the farmers and rosters put into the coffee.

I’m not much of a coffee drinker so I’m not surprised that I’ve never heard of Starbucks Reserve, but my goodness is it inspiring. But whats even cooler is the fact these little cards go beyond just a simple design. Each pattern and illustration, in my opinion, could even be used to inspire textiles. Imagine the illustration on the Congo Coffee Card as a decorative accent pillow. Or even better the Pantheon Blend Card as a semi-sheet off-the-shoulder maxi dress. I would faint if I found it in stores, it is beautiful. As I work towards being a well-rounded designer, the artwork symbolized everything that represented my aesthetic. It is bold, dynamic, colorful, refined, but yet with purpose. If you want to read more about the story behind each coffee check out Starbucks Reserve.
